Dear Partner,
For the past few weeks, there has been a stirring in my spirit. And while I have prayed about it and thought about it on various levels, just a few days ago it became very clear to me that this stirring would continue until I talked with you and other Partners and friends who are standing with me in this exciting mission God has placed before us.
But before I share what is happening in my spirit, I want to pray for and with you: Father, I come to You in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I thank You for bringing these wonderful people into my life as we partner in the assignment You have placed before us. Thank You for the assurance of Your return that draws ever closer. Thank You for the prayers and the willingness to ACT by faith as we move into the perfect pattern You have established for each of us. Thank You for the guidance of Your Holy Spirit as we continue to do Greater Works as You open doors of opportunity that You would be glorified. In the matchless name of Jesus, I pray Your blessing may be ever close to them. Amen and Amen.
Recently I wrote you about the perfect pattern God has for each of us and the importance for each of us to know, understand, and be able to identify that divine pattern at work in our lives. In that letter I told you, “There’s a pattern in the universe. There’s an order in space. NASA knows that. If they get on the right track, that spaceship will go wherever they send it. But if they are off by just the smallest measurement at launch, they’ll miss their target by millions of miles. Because there’s a pattern… there’s a target… there’s an order in space. And God is in control of that pattern.”
Since writing those words to you, the stirring I told you about in the opening of this letter will not go away. The stirring came in the form of a question: If God is in control of the pattern He has established for each of us, then why are so many Believers not experiencing the fullness of His blessing in their lives? Why is there lack among Believers? Why is sickness and pain attacking so many Believers? Why are so many dreams and good plans falling so short of their goals, while others seemingly fall by the wayside only to rust and be in disrepair?
Over the past few days, as I have continued to weigh these questions that have been stirring in my spirit against the promises of the Word, the answer hit me like a bolt of lightning. It was there all the time… In fact, the answer was embedded in what I wrote to you in my last letter. “There’s a pattern in the universe. There’s an order in space. NASA knows that. If they get on the right track, that spaceship will go wherever they send it. But if they are off by just the smallest measurement at launch, they’ll miss their target by millions of miles.”
THE SECRET TO TAPPING INTO THE FULLNESS OF GOD is our willingness to make “minor” adjustments at the very beginning of Every Dream… Every Hope… and Every Expectation we have in Christ. And this even includes how we ACT on our faith in God’s ability to fulfill His every promise in and through both our individual lives and our collective associations with others. We (you and I) MUST begin RIGHT if we (you and I) are to REACH the exciting goals (rewards) God has for us.
Please read the following very carefully… A dressmaker would not consider making a dress without having a pattern. A shoemaker would not make a shoe or a boot without a pattern to go by. They don’t just close their eyes and do it by what they’ve learned. No, there’s a pattern that they follow. The most expensive suits and dresses in the world are not made without a pattern. And right now God is showing us the pattern… the pattern of faith.
Let’s Get It Right… Take the word “commission.” Nearly every Believer I have ever talked with uses this word. However, it’s the Word that defines the “pattern,” or measure of success when talking about the Great Commission. We are to operate in the power of the words recorded in Matthew 28:19–20: “All authority has been given unto Me, both in heaven and in earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.”
And of course, these words are to direct our paths too: “And, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age.” That’s Matthew 28:19–20. When you hear someone talk about the Great Commission, this is it — the Great Commission, Matthew 28:19–20. It was given at the most critical point of Jesus’ life and ministry. He had lived, He had preached, He had taught, He had healed, He had cast out devils, He had raised the dead, He had put money in fish’s mouths… Then He died on the cross, but He rose from the grave.
Now, near the end of His earthly mission, after He had arisen from the dead, after hundreds had seen Him alive, He was ready to ascend and return to His Father. Everything He had done was entrusted to you and me… “If you continue in My Word, then you are My disciples.” The divine pattern God has for you includes a connection with all of us who are Christians. We are all to be disciples. If we continue in His Word, then we are His disciples.
One of the greatest things about the Great Commission is the great faith that God has demonstrated in us to see His work carried out throughout the earth. God is actually trusting us (you and me) with the continuation of His Pattern for the salvation, the healing, the prosperity, and the well being of the Body of Christ. Can you imagine what it must be like to God to trust you and me with such a mission? Think about it for a minute. It’s an awesome thought that He (God) trusts us so much. The good news is, He does. He knows us, and He still trusts us with stewardship of the pattern He set into motion when He spoke the Words, “Let there be light!”
POWER POINT: Such Power and Trust is NOT a burden. And while satan would want you to believe you are not qualified to handle God’s power and trust, I tell you on the authority of God’s Word, satan is lying to you. You MUST guard against allowing doubt to have any place in your life. Remember, doubt and the Word cannot occupy the same space at the same time. As a blood bought child of the Most High God, YOU are qualified to flow in God’s divine pattern. You are qualified to experience His Glory flowing in and through your life.
Getting the LAUNCH correct determines whether or not we hit the desired target. In other words, preparation at the beginning of a mission will determine the process as well as the end results of that mission… So, as you read the following, see yourself making those minor adjustments to assure His victory in both the journey and the destination. Then you will witness the GREATER WORKS of Jesus at work in your life.
7 SPECIFIC STEPS THAT WILL HELP YOU MOVE INTO THE BLESSING PATTERN
1 Bathe your mind in the Word. See the Bible for what it is… It is God’s Blueprint for YOU! It defines His purpose for creating you, as well as His covenant to bless you. So, meditate on His Word daily. Allow the Word to place you on the right pattern for Victory. “Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do” (Deuteronomy 29:9).
2 Be passionate about what you want God to do in and through your life. Passion turns Believers into target-driven Believers… The voice of the Apostle Paul penetrated the known world in his day. His words still burn like a branding torch: “This one thing I do… I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13–14).
3 Partner, It is important for you to SEE your Miracle. God begins every miracle with a divine picture that He plants in your spirit. Just as designers and architects draw pictures before any construction begins, allow your memory to replay past miracles and victories of God at work in your life. And then allow your mind to pre-play those miracles that your heart has desired from the Lord. Allow your spirit to see God at work on your behalf… See the miracle you desire being fulfilled… “And He brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward Heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and He said unto him, So shall thy seed be” (Genesis 15:5).
4 Speak to yourself with words of excitement. Allow your mind to hear your mouth speaking words of excitement as you choose healing over sickness. This is not mind over matter… This is you ACTING on your faith. Sickness is a thief. God wants you well. Get excited about God wanting you well! The Great Physician is putting you back together. “Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:4–5).
5 Surround yourself with Praise and Worship. An atmosphere of praise and worship can unlock your Faith for a miracle. The Word records that when David played his harp for Saul, evil spirits departed from the palace. Anointed music will create a Miracle climate. I remember seeing the faces of the people walking toward the platform singing, He’s a Healing Jesus… When you choose to take control of the sound around you, you are actually taking control and setting the atmosphere for your feelings. “But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him” (2 Kings 3:15).
6 PUT NO LIMITS ON GOD… Focus your faith as you focus your expectations. If you are asking for a better job, tell God what kind of job you would like… When you are asking God for an increase in pay, tell Him the exact amount of the increase you desire. Don’t allow doubt or uncertainty to drive you into generalities… Remember, when you get specific with God, He will get specific with you. Focus on the particular need you want God to meet. “How much more shall your Father which is in Heaven give good things to them that ask Him?” (Matthew 7:11). Don’t allow comments and attitudes of those around you to place limits on the God you serve… “And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible” (Mark 10:27).
7 Recognize God as your Source… Look around you… Take inventory of all that you have. Recognize every good and perfect gift as a gift from the God who takes delight in giving you the desires of your heart. Give Him Glory… Give Him Praise… Praise Him for His goodness… And if there is any lack, allow the Holy Spirit to help you adjust your move into God’s pattern in such a way as to direct both the direction and the amount of your seed to provide the harvest you desire. “And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; but thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth” (Deuteronomy 8:13, 18).
When you move into God’s Pattern, the Glory will fall.
The Glory of God fell in Ghana, West Africa… We were on a divine mission together… We went to Ghana to glorify God by doing Greater Works than we had done… We allowed nothing to deter us from the mission to which we have been called. We went to do the works of Jesus, and we witnessed God’s faithfulness to His Word! We went to lift up the Healing Jesus… And we witnessed the healing power of Jesus… We went to lift up the Power of the Holy Spirit… And we witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit in every meeting! We set guards against doubt and unbelief as we spoke of the power of God. We went as living examples of what God can do in and through our lives… We were faithful and obedient to bless 300 rural pastors who have no access to the Internet by giving them tablets filled with powerful Oral Roberts Ministries resources. I was thrilled to impart three days of teaching, ministry and prayer over these precious men and women of God. We were IN HIS PATTERN, and the Glory of God was there…
